Should you find yourself in need of a procedure, do not panic! At Fusion Dental Specialists, we are proud to offer laser technology to our patients. This kind of technology helps us ensure that our dental procedures, no matter how precise, are carried out quickly and effectively.

What is laser technology?

When you think of the word “laser”, you might be picturing a big, bright rod of color that can cut through anything. In modern practice, this is not exactly how laser technology works. Instead, the energy and power of lasers are contained within certain machines that are made to help with various procedures. Some of them, for example, are designed to allow our dental hygienists to routinely clear out diseased gum tissue in order to keep patients’ mouths as healthy as possible, even when they are suffering from something like gum disease. Other lasers are created to help make dental surgical procedures far more precise than ever before while also reducing the amount of strain that is placed on a dentist’s hand and wrist.

Can laser technology really help me?

In short, yes, laser technology can really help you. To give a slightly more expanded answer, laser technology is useful for many different reasons and can help many different kinds of patients. Those who are already suffering from gum disease, for example, can find help and treatment in the form of lasers that work to quickly and relatively painlessly remove diseased tissue from their mouths. These kinds of lasers do not affect healthy tissue at all, which means that you do not have to worry about losing anything other than tissue that needs to go.

Along the same lines as above, there are certain kinds of lasers that are designed to make dental surgery an easier and less traumatic matter. Some of them are smart enough to cut through bone or a certain kind of tissue while leaving other areas of the mouth alone. That means that some procedures that used to cause a lot of soft tissue damage inadvertently are now a lot more precise. Patients end up with much less discomfort than ever before, and their healing time is greatly reduced thanks to the accurate measurements and actions of laser technology.

Is laser technology safe?

Many individuals are worried that laser technology is a dangerous, scary thing. In reality, this technology has been closely studied and is only handled by professionals who know exactly how to use it. Do not worry whether or not the technology is dangerous—at Fusion Dental Specialists, you are in experienced hands.
